2006 Corvette C6 out for a ride – a short film by one of our readers!

Hello, guys! Today I want to share with you a short video, made by one of our readers – Kelby Roberson – a very ambitious 17-year old young filmmaker on youtube with some serious equipment. Kelby dropped me a line on Facebook with his video and when I saw if, I decided to post it and support this fan.

The video is about a 2006 Corvette C6 (V8 LS2 400HP) going out for a ride on some nice peaceful roads and then going back home. Although it’s not a super-speed, drifting “fast and furious” movie, it has its charm. The young Mr. Roberson chose a very nice and shiny Vette to work his film skills, because he could pick any other make, but he wanted a true American car. What’s more, he has plans to study film in college for the next four years, so Kelby, hope you achieve your goal and keep up the good work! We are waiting your next video showing some burned rubber!

Don’t waste any more time a check out the video on Read more!

2012-2013 Ford Racing Mustang Cobra Jet Concept at SEMA 2012 - Muscle Cars BlogThe Ford Racing Mustang Cobra Jet concept revealed today at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show proves there is indeed a replacement for displacement.

In the perpetual quest to stay ahead of the competition, for the first time ever Ford Racing has equipped its factory-built turnkey drag racer with a turbocharged engine, adopting the same award-winning technology found on road-going EcoBoost® engines.

Winning heritage
When the original Mustang Cobra Jet drag racers rolled out of the Mustang factory in 1968, they relied on 7.0-liter V8 engines with massive four-barrel carburetors to propel them down the strip.

“When a new generation of Cobra Jets arrived four decades later, they immediately began winning with a modern, fuel-injected 5.4-liter V8 topped with a belt-driven supercharger,” recalls Jesse Kershaw, Ford drag racing competition manager. “Over the past four years, the Cobra Jet has gone on to become both a fan and competitor favorite, the most successful late-model vehicle in drag racing.” Read more!

Mopar and SRT Reveal Comedian Jeff Dunham's Project Vehicle at SEMA 2012 - Muscle Cars BlogAs part of Mopar’s 75th anniversary celebration and the 2012 edition of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show, Mopar and the Street and Racing Technology (SRT) team collaborated with comedian Jeff Dunham and his crew from Palmer’s Customs of Camarillo, Calif., to create a custom 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8. Mopar, SRT, and Dunham revealed the modern-day hot rod, dubbed Project UltraViolet, today at the SEMA show in Las Vegas.

Dunham is a lifelong car enthusiast and well-known comedian who premiered his fifth special, “Minding the Monsters” on Comedy Central earlier this month and will launch his new “Disorderly Conduct” tour next month in Canada.

“It’s a major understatement to say that I’ve been looking forward to the SEMA show this year, as we’ve had an awesome time creating this one-of-a-kind Challenger,” said Dunham, who touts the 1970 Plymouth Barracuda “as my favorite muscle car of all time” and recently purchased a 1970 numbers-matching four-speed convertible ‘Cuda as proof. 1969 Chevrolet Camaro LS2 550 HP - The Punisher - Muscle Cars BlogWe’ve featured some pretty amazing pro-touring early Camaros lately here at Muscle Cars Blog, but when you start giving cars names, you know they’re getting serious. Built by the artists at GelPro Rod & Muscle, his 1969 Camaro is known as “The Punisher” and given the performance credentials and stunning execution, it’s entirely appropriate (yes, comic book fans, we know The Punisher drove a GTO, not a Camaro, so save your E-mails; it’s just a name). Pro-touring is all about integrating modern performance equipment with vintage sheetmetal, and this pro-built car delivers on every level-it has already been voted the runner-up in the 2009 GoodGuys Muscle Car of the Year competition. Power comes from a modified LS2 V8, the suspension is heavily upgraded, and it spins a modern 5-speed transmission, not to mention all the creature comforts that are part of the deal. If ever there was a car that has legitimately earned its name, it’s this one-it will definitely punish competitors on the street as well as the show field. Click on read more for fantastic photos!
