Tiguan takes home prestigious award

Posted on 12 September, 2018

Volkswagen of America, Inc. announces that the latest Tiguan has been named Best New SUV for teens. As you might know, we have recently published an article in which other brand has reached such recognition too. Although the question how two different vehicles can be recognized as “best” simultaneously remains, we head to reviewing what makes this vehicle special.

In order to be nominated for such award, a vehicle must feature the best combination of reliability ratings, crash test scores, advanced driver assistance technologies and top critical recommendations in the U.S. News Best Cars rankings in its price category.

By far, all 2018 Best New Cars For Teens winners adopt forward collision warning, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist that altogether aid the young drivers in the goal of reaching their destination unharmed and in overall good condition. This is the second generation of Tiguan that comes with larger dimensions, flexible seats for seven passengers and available high-tech infotainment and driver-assistance features. However, what’s new for 2018 is the revised 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder TSI power unit, mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and revised 4Motion all-wheel-drive. The vehicle can also be specified in S, SE SEL and SEL Premium trim levels. Enjoy!
