2019 Audi A6 and Q8 models were named 2019 Top Safety Picks by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The first one, A6, has also been recognized as the winner of 2019 Top Safety Pick Plus, earning a „good” rating for its LED Matrix and HD Matrix Design headlights available with the Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels. On the other hand, 2019 Audi Q8 was named a 2019 Top Safety Pick when equipped with the available HD Matrix Design LED lightning package.
Both machines earned “good” ratings in all six IIHS crashworthiness evaluations and “superior” recognition for the Front Crash Prevention tests with the Audi Q8 “Top Safety Pick”, while A6 was awarded with “Top Safety Pick+” award.
Furthermore, the 2019 IIHS Top Safety Pick was achieved by adding the available LED lightning packages and all these standard and optional driver assistance features. Such include Audi pre sense basic with autonomous brake and other safety features.
Additionally, the Top Safety Pick Plus award was achieved by scoring “good” ratings in the moderate overlap front, driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, side, roof strength, head restraint and headlight tests. This award also requires no less than “advanced” rating for the front-crash prevention.
