Like most gearheads, Jack Roush enjoys engines of any kind and speed at any level. Nobody knows more about getting a Ford around a racetrack quickly than this guy. And for years, some of the nastiest, most powerful, and most spectacular blue oval hardware ever built has come out of Roush Performance in Livonia Michigan. However, as an owner of two P-51 Mustangs, Jack also has a healthy love for the vintage warbirds which inspired America’s first pony car. And in 2009, he decided to create an aeronautical themed performance car that would be a literal interpretation of Triple Ace Bud Anderson’s “Old Crow” P-51B fighter plane. One of only 51 produced, this showroom fresh Roush P-51B is the ultimate embodiment of classic American aviation and decades of racing knowledge. If you’re looking for a unique show car that’s virtually guaranteed to grow into an elite, investment grade muscle car, here’s your chance to strap in early and watch this Mustang climb! While everybody keeps their eyes on the 2010 Paris Auto Show, the specialists at ROUSH have released an enhanced version of the 2011 5XR Mustang. Thanks to the factory-installed ROUSHcharger, the muscle car now sports no less than 525 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque.
According to the team, there will be just 150 units of the 2011 ROUSH 5XR Mustang built, each with a 3-year/36,000 mile warranty on the powertrain and ROUSH components.
Available in both coupe and convertible forms, the more powerful 5XR Mustang comes only with a six-speed manual transmission. The car rides on ROUSH 20-inch chrome rims with high-performance Cooper RS3 tires.
Other highlights include a ROUSH exhaust with square tips, a custom body kit, a ROUSH front fascia with driving lamps, front chin splitter, side rocker splitters, rear valance and three-piece decklid spoiler. The package is completed by unique 2011 ROUSH 5XR Mustang graphics and badging.
“I’m always excited to get an opportunity to work on a new engine, and the Ford 5.0-liter is a great platform. It has 412 horsepower to begin with, but our group was able to coax out another 113 horsepower with the ROUSHcharger. The 2011 ROUSH 5XR runs fast, sounds great, and is another amazing addition to the ROUSH Mustang heritage,” said Jack Roush, chairman of ROUSH Enterprises.
A letter of authenticity, personally signed by Jack Roush, will be sent to each buyer of the 2011 ROUSH 5XR Mustang. The 2011 ROUSH 5XR package carries a suggested retail price of $15,390 in addition to the cost of the base Mustang chassis.
Other upgrades available for the 2011 ROUSH 5XR Mustang include color-matched sport leather seats, big four-piston brakes with 14-inch slotted rotors, vent pod gauge, and a lower three-piece billet grille.

LIVONIA, Mich. (August 26, 2010) – Since the day Ford announced the new 5.0L engine for the 2011 Mustang, people have been asking, “What is ROUSH® going to do with that engine? When will the ROUSHcharger® be available?”
The answer to those questions is finally available. ROUSH has engineered a 5.0L ROUSHcharger Tuner Kit that can boost the horsepower on the 2011 Mustang upwards of 550 horsepower on stock pump gasoline with more than 470 lb.-ft. of torque. This 5.0L ROUSHcharger Tuner Kit (part number 421140) has a suggested retail price of $5,999.00 and is available for shipment now.
Many people got their first look at the 5.0L ROUSHcharger in the ROUSH display at Mustang Alley during the Woodward Dream Cruise. The display car got many double takes as people walked by, looked, and then realized that car was, in fact, a 2011 Mustang with a ROUSHcharger installed.
Based on the popular TVS2300 ROUSHcharger, the 5.0L ROUSHcharger Tuner Kit comes with a 90mm pulley and generates an estimated seven pounds of boost. Included in the kit are 47 lb. fuel injectors, high-flow fuel rails, a high-flow ROUSH air lid, and a twin 60mm throttle body. The heavy-duty ROUSH tensioner is included for the first FEAD belt.
This Tuner Kit includes a 90-day parts warranty, but does not come with a calibration or maintain the Ford factory engine warranty. Professional tuning and installation is recommended.
“While the new Ford five-liter engine offers amazing performance right from the factory, and the new ROUSHcharger will kick it up a level,” said Jack Roush, motorsports legend and chairman of ROUSH Enterprises. “Our engineering team has worked hard to deliver a product that will satisfy the demands of the ROUSH customer on an extremely tight deadline, and they have come up with another great solution for a powertrain upgrade.“
Orders for the 5.0L ROUSHcharger Tuner Kit are now being accepted by calling 1-800-59-ROUSH. Information can be found online at www.ROUSHperformance.com.
There will be a 5.0L ROUSHcharger Kit available this fall that will come complete with a ROUSH calibration and full warranty. Pricing and details to come.
