Hi, guys, this was awesome – Ford took the F-150 EcoBoost into the forest, where it shot a series of Web-based documentaries about what the truck can do. Simply put, the F-150 was forced to pull some logs through the narrow roads of the forest, just to show that the 420 lb.-ft of torque are for real. The truck pulled logs weighing from 4,000 to 9,000 pounds, heavy enough to kick into action the truck’s great torque/rpm combination (420 lb.-ft. at 2,500 rpm). Did it manage to impress?

DEARBORN, Mich., Feb. 25, 2010 – Ford Super Duty customers expect and demand capability from the best-selling heavy-duty truck in America. For most Super Duty owners, it’s the core asset of their business. Day after day, year after year, it’s expected to deliver results in the most demanding situations. No nonsense. And never any excuses.
“Our Super Duty customers do some of America’s toughest jobs,” said Mark Fields, Ford president of The Americas. “Every day they’re out there working with little fanfare and all they ask is the right tool for the job. The new 2011 Super Duty offers them a truck with best-in-class towing and payload, all-new powertrains and even more capability than ever to help them do their jobs.”
Ford’s F-Series has been the best-selling line of trucks in the U.S. for 33 straight years. With class-leading torque, horsepower, fuel economy and towing and payload capability, the new Super Duty further underscores Ford’s Built Ford Tough legacy.
Some people call this car crash the most expensive one in history. What’s more – Tiger Woods has lost millions of dollars from sponsors who dropped or limited their use of his likeness in their marketing after news of his affairs. What’s next – General Motors has restricted their sponsorship.
After the accident in November in which he crashed a Cadillac Escalade, registered to G.M., outside his home in Florida his problems emerged. USA Today reported on Tuesday that General Motors ended the agreement with Tiger Woods two weeks ago. Dayna Hart, a spokeswoman for Buick, confirmed the news on Wednesday: “Our loan arrangement with him was contracted to end Dec. 31, 2009.”
GMC Urban Utility Concept (mentioned previously as the GMC Granite) is the teaser, released by GM, prior to its debut at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show on Monday. The concept hints at a new segment GMC may venture into to compete with the likes of Kia’s Soul and Nissan’s Cube.
“We’ve designed a new breed of truck that’s as efficient as it is chic, innovative as it is functional,” says Frank Saucedo. “Our goal was to create the next generation of urban mobility, fusing a flexible, functional social space with an urban-box design that’s equally at home at the cabin or the club.”
Sometimes being one of the most dependable and reliable trucks for 60 years isn’t enough. Being upfitted as a first-responder vehicle or dozens of other work applications for people who rely on their trucks is great, but what else can the 2011 Ford Super Duty® do? A the 2009 LA Auto Show, this F-550, outfitted as a fire department first-responder truck, will generate donations for the Los Angeles County Firefighters Widows and Orphans Fund.
