SRT stands for ‘Street and Racing Technology’, an appropriate tag for the Challenger SRT Hellcat, since this new king of the muscle cars is equally at home on the road, track or 1/4-mile drag strip.
The 6.2-litre V8 that powers the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is based on the larger displacement 6.4-litre, 492 hp engine of the Challenger SRT 392.
But where the SRT 392’s motor is naturally-aspirated, the Hellcat’s bent-crank V8 dances to the beat of a twin-screw supercharger.
New Dodge Viper Documentary Captures Hand-built Craftsmanship and Passion in Every Dodge Viper [VIDEO]
A new 22-minute documentary, “Viper: DNA of a Supercar,” launched today by Dodge showcases how the Dodge Viper is created like no other car – with passion driving every ounce of design origin, attention to detail and meticulous handcrafting.
“The Dodge Viper is a precision-handcrafted machine expressively built to stimulate all the senses of an enthusiast’s soul,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO, Dodge and SRT, FCA North America. “It’s not widely known what it takes to create this supercar, including the 140 to 160 hours to hand paint each Viper, so we produced the film to show what sets the Viper apart from everything else in its segment.”
The remarkable 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat is the fastest and most powerful sedan around the world. In order to strike with even more staggering virtues, the car boasts fuel-economy statistics as impressive as its performance characteristics.
Now the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat has received an EPA fuel economy rating of 13 miles per gallon in the city and a 22 miles per gallon on the highway. Maybe 13 miles per gallon in the city is not such a stunning figure, but getting more than 20 miles per gallon on the highway is, in fact, quite phenomenal.
Dodge Viper sales have been on a run since the brand repositioned the limited-production hand-built super car in September, and Dodge is building on the momentum, opening the system for dealers to place sold customer orders of the newly equipped 2015.5 Dodge Viper GTS and TA 2.0 Special Edition, which join the SRT and GT models in the Viper lineup.
The wait is over. The highly anticipated new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat with its supercharged whine is about to roar into Dodge dealerships across the United States.
Dodge and SRT received more than 4,500 orders for the new 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in just the first five days after orders opened in September. Those 707-horsepower muscle cars are now leaving the Brampton (Ont.) Assembly plant where they were built and making their way to Dodge customers across the country.
Dodge auctioned the first production 707-horsepower 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat VIN0001, the most powerful and fastest muscle car ever, for $825,000 at the Sept. 27 Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas 2014 auction benefitting Opportunity Village, a not-for-profit organization that serves people with significant intellectual disabilities in the Las Vegas area. The Engelstad Family Foundation of Las Vegas matched the auction price, bringing the grand total raised for Opportunity Village to $1.65 million. With their generous donation, the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat raised more money for charity than any other car in Barrett-Jackson history.
The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, the most powerful muscle car ever, now boasts a fuel-economy rating as compelling as the 707 horses hurrying from its 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI® Hellcat V-8.
Equipped with Chrysler Group’s segment-exclusive TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, the new Challenger SRT Hellcat has earned a highway fuel-economy rating of 22 miles per gallon (mpg) from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Dodge is upping its high-performance game again with the unveiling of the new 2015 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat.
The new Charger SRT Hellcat will feature the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® Hellcat V-8 engine that produces 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque – making it the quickest, fastest, most powerful production sedan in the world, as well as the most capable and technologically advanced four-door muscle car in America.
“For the last eight years, a large part of the Dodge Charger’s successful formula has been its many personalities. It’s a muscle car, a performance sedan, a family capable sedan; its success is that it can be any or all of those things, depending on how the customer chooses to equip their car,” said Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO — Dodge and SRT Brands. “And now, with a NHRA-certified quarter mile time of 11.0 seconds and a 204 mph top speed, the new 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat redefines itself again, as the quickest, fastest, most powerful sedan in the world!”
