50th Anniversary CSX7000 FIA Continuation Shelby Cobra


In 1964 Shelby introduced the FIA version of the small block Cobra. The latter competed in the same year in the 1964 World Manufacturers Championship series against vehicles such as Aston Martin, Jaguar and Corvette. This year marks the 50th anniversary since the birth of the model.

For this reason, in order to celebrate the 289 Ford powered roadsters, Shelby will offer 50 limited editions (CSX7000) Shelby 289 FIA Cobras. Each one of them will be painted in “Viking Blue” exterior color and will include the emblematic FIA stripes and roundels.

When After Dark Films needed to cast a high performance car for their action thriller, “Getaway” ( they tapped the iconic Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake built by Shelby American, a wholly owned subsidiary of Carroll Shelby International Inc., (CSBI.PK). The legendary muscle car will appear on the silver screen with Ethan Hawke and Selena Gomez on August 30, 2013, when Warner Bros. opens “Getaway” nationwide, thanks to the efforts of Carroll Shelby Licensing Inc.

Shelby has been working their legendary magic on the GT500 since its modern reintroduction, first offering a 650 horsepower Super Snake package in 2007 and ramping up the performance nearly every year since. In 2011 Shelby offered up their most powerful Super Snake yet with an incredible 800 horsepower from the supercharged 5.4-liter V8. For most, that would be plenty of horsepower for a street car. For Carroll? Not quite enough.

“Upon the completion of the 800 horsepower Super Snake we took him around the track in it and he was excited and he jumped out of the car and we all stood there expecting to get a big ol’ Shelby hug,” Shelby president John Luft tells us.

Shelby Performance Wide Body Kit for 2010-2014 Ford Mustang


Shelby Performance Parts (SPP), a division of Shelby American, a wholly owned subsidiary of Carroll Shelby International Inc. (CSBI.PK), has now introduced the highly anticipated Shelby Wide Body Kit for 2010-2014 Mustang and Shelby models. The Shelby Wide Body package was unveiled on the 2013 Shelby GT500 Super Snake at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit this January, and was recently released for 2005-2009 Mustang and Shelby cars. Shelby Performance Parts now gives current generation Mustang and Shelby owners the option to buy the kit and have it installed by a local shop of their choosing.

Shelby Discontinues the GT350 Model


Shelby American, Inc. will end production of the current generation American muscle car, the Shelby GT350. Shelby American will take new orders for its GT350 through December 31, 2013. Production of all other Shelby performance cars will continue.

“The Shelby GT350 is one of the world’s most celebrated, iconic muscle cars,” said John Luft, president of Shelby American. “The model’s limited production has long been part of its appeal.
