Chrysler and Cummings – A Proud History

Chrysler and Cummings – A Proud HistoryThe relationship between Chrysler and Cummins goes back to the mid-1980s.  Back in those days, Chrysler was the only one of the big three automakers that did not have a diesel engine in their model lineup.  In 1978, General Motors was the first to offer a diesel engine and their Oldsmobile 350 Diesel was an existing V8 design that they retooled for diesel use.  Ford followed in the early eighties with a 6.9L V-8 diesel that they bought from International Harvester.  Both of these engines were normally-aspirated and offered power similar to the gasoline powered versions. Then Chrysler got involved.

Chrysler’s TorqueFlite Transmissions Saves $2.5 billion USD

Chrysler’s TorqueFlite eight-speed transmissions are getting famous for their fuel savings and emissions reductions. They feature advanced-technology automatics which are first of their kind ever made available to mainstream-brand customers. In fact, these transmissions are now powering more than one million vehicles, worldwide. Vehicles equipped with TorqueFlite eight-speed transmissions are projected to save their owners more than 700 million gallons of fuel, if one compares them with their predecessors that featured five- or six-speed automatic transmissions. This means that the quantity of gasoline is worth approximately $2.5 billion at the pump.

Furthermore, they also contribute for the reduction of the combined CO2 emissions by more than six million metric tonnes. There have been achieved 19 Chrysler Group fuel-economy or driving-range benchmarks across four vehicle segments.

2014 Dodge Ram 1500 EcoDiesel Sets fuel Economy Record Of 28 MPG Highway

2014 Dodge Ram 1500 EcoDiesel has recorded a 28-mpg rating from the EPA, which makes it the best highway-cycle test result ever achieved by a full-size half-ton pickup. What is more, this rating also exceeds the EPA highway rating for the top-ranked small pickup.

Last year, the truck scored 25 mpg highway, equipped with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 gasoline engine. EcoDiesel is the first and only advanced-technology turbo-diesel offering in the half-ton pickup segment. Next to its superior fuel economy, it also delivers peak torque of 420 lb.-ft. (569 Nm).

2014 Ram 1500 Mossy Oak Edition Adds To Ram’s Lineup

2014 Ram 1500 Mossy Oak Edition will add more exclusivity to Ram’s Line-up. The vehicle has been updated for MY2014 and will be offered for the first time with the RamBox cargo management system, in both 6-ft.-4-in. and 5-ft.-7-in. bed lengths.

Mossy Oak Edition was originally introduced to the Ram Truck family back in 2011 with the aim to capture the hearts of those who are passionate about the great outdoors, hunting and fishing. In fact, Ram 1500 owner demographics illustrate a love for the outdoors.

The numbers are the following: 30 percent hunt, 44 percent fish, 27 percent are boaters and 42 percent are campers. To go further into details, what makes this edition so special is the camouflage cover.

The New Ram 1500 Express

Ram has introduced a model for the 2013 model year aimed squarely at first-time buyers and owners who are seeking a vehicle with performance and style that they can customize and make their own – the Ram 1500 Express. For those interested in a pickup with an emphasis on high-performance character, the Express is well worth a look. We recently swung by the Marty Cancila RAM dealership to check it out in person, and found that the written description of this vehicle just does not do it justice – it’s got a certain style the typical pickup just couldn’t pull off. It features a racy, monochromatic paint scheme. A body-colored grille with black honeycomb inserts, body-colored front fascia and body-colored rear bumper with chrome-tipped dual exhausts emphasize its sport-truck credentials.
