Called Project Ultraviolet, it starts with a Dodge Challenger SRT8 purchased in downtown LA. The muscle car is being built to show off new technology and a brand new engine – declared “an amazing thing” in the video – that Chrysler will be unveiling in Las Vegas.

This year’s edition of SEMA will feature the usual slew of over-the-top, modified cars with all sorts of wild mods, ranging from crazy paint finishes and liveries, to engine swaps and mechanical modifications – all appreciated in their own way, and by a distinct crowd.

One of the real expected crowd-pullers is this, the Dodge Charger Juiced concept. It features a plain paint finish, with some plain wheels, and a plain and subtle body kit, and that’s about it. However, as it is most often the case, it’s what you don’t see that really makes a difference, and in this case, a very big difference – 8.4-liters-worth to be precise. Check out this awesome brand new 2012 Chevrolet Camaro SLP  Panther Edition!! This is a limited production car that is built as a super charged throw back to the original Camaro. Before the Camaro was ever deemed the Camaro it was referred to as project Panther. Early plans were for the car to be named The Panther. There were several cars produced early under the name panther.

Since its introduction in the early 60’s, the Ford Mustang has experienced periods of highs and periods of lows. The good thing about the Mustang is that Ford has never taken its eyes off this iconic car. It is a testament to good old-fashioned engineering backed by powerful engine muscle. There have been many variations of the Ford Mustang during the years, and we’ll have a look at a few that seemed more special than the others. Some of these cars are limited-edition (less than 5,000 units) and some have large production numbers (more than 100,000) but they have one thing in common. They are the among the best muscle cars in the world.

The 2012 Chevy Camaro has become the fastest and the most powerful muscle car the world has ever seen. The 2012 Camaro is expected to be as forceful as it’s possible, with the output rating of more than 570 hp! 580 hp, to be precise. Sounds like it’s more than ready for the road. Along with the fierce horsepower, the Camaro makes 550 lb-ft of torque. It goes far ahead than its closest rival, the Cadillac CTS-V.

The Camaro keeps the balance of performance and technology in the one car, with the newest investments in performance traction management and Magnetic Ride Control (MRC). It enables the Camaro’s track-focused suspension shift from hard to soft, depending on the track. Let alone active exhaust that awakens the neighbors. Originally an open track car, this 1968 Ford Mustang has been returned to road spec whilst retaining a number of race car features. It still has the full roll cage, although the side impact bars have been removed to ease getting in and out. The motor is a small block screamer that happily spins the wheels in the first three gears! Suspension is all Global West’s finest making the car handle better than any 45 years old car should. It actually handles better than a number of modern sports cars! For 58 of its 60 years, the Chevrolet Corvette has been powered by the legendary Chevrolet V-8 engine. Technological advancements have increased output threefold – from 195 hp in 1955 to 638 hp today – as well as reliability, refinement and efficiency.

However, the fundamental architecture of the Chevrolet “Small Block” remains the same today as it was in 1955: a 90-degree V-8, with overhead valves actuated by pushrods, and a 4.4-inch on-center bore spacing.

“The brilliance of the Chevrolet V-8 is its elegant, efficient design,” said Jordan Lee, global chief engineer for Small Block Engines. “The Chevy V-8 has fewer reciprocating parts, and is very efficient and has one of the best power-to-weight ratios of any engine family in the industry. The design is incredibly compact, enabling the Corvette’s signature sleek profile and low hood line.”

Despite a sporty appearance, the early Corvettes’ performance didn’t match their good looks. The car launched in 1953 with the “Blue Flame” inline six-cylinder engine and a two-speed automatic transmission – not exactly the stuff on which to build a sports car legend. That changed in 1955, when the new small-block V-8 engine became available and was ordered by 99 percent of Corvette buyers. Read more!

This superb 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Custom 2 Door Coupe has been accepted by Barret Jackson Las Vegas auction to go across the auction block on Saturday sept, 22nd and has been chosen to be part of the “primetime” slot which will be aired on the speed channel.
