The GM Vehicle Plant Tour - Muscle Cars BlogIn order to increase it’s awareness and sales, General Motors has developed an employee personal driving experience sharing program, called The GM Vehicle Plant Tour. According to the sources, in this program employees will be trained at 40 North American plants through a series of personal experiences. Obviously the aim of the company is to offer the company’s vehicles in their employees’ local communities.

Over 40,000 people will take part in this program. The Tour will include monthly stops at important U.S. and Canadian GM plants. Overnight test-drive vehicles will be available. The vehicles included in the campaign are the Chevrolet Equinox, Camaro and Malibu, the Buick LaCrosse, the GMC Terrain and the Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon.

“The hardworking men and women at these plants are focused each day on producing high-quality vehicles,” said Cal Rapson, vice president and director, UAW International. “The UAW is proud to support a program that enlists the help of our members to play an active role in promoting these vehicles in their communities.”

Chevrolet Corvette C6R GT2 - Muscle Cars BlogAfter we presented you an interview with Doug Fehan, and the upcoming challenge for the Corvette C6R at The 24 Hours of Le Mans, we wanted to present you live image of this beautiful racing muscle car – The Chevrolet Corvette C6R GT2.

The shot above was snapped at the garages of Pratt & Miller, the racing outfit contracted by GM to develop and run the racing Corvettes. As we can see, the color scheme is the same black and yellow, but the 2010 C6R has sharper paint job.

The bodywork is built based on an aluminum frame – for instance – the GT1′s frame is made of steel. The brakes are made of steel, too. The power unit of the muscle car is a downsized 5.5-liter V8.

We all hope that the Corvette Racing team is going to beat the competition, dominated by Ferraris and Porsches. Images – below on Read more!

There is a rumor that says Chevrolet is taking into consideration building a Corvette sedan based on the Holden Commodore. We know that seems a little exaggerated, but the announcement was made apparently by Bob Lutz who said the four-door Corvette sedan will be a limited edition model which will be sold in the United states only. Lutz said a Corvette sedan is not impossible since a brand is not defined by a body shell, but by the engine, traction and transmission.

Most people know that GM is builds Australian models based on its US cars, but it has never based a North American model on an Aussie vehicle.
