Start under the hood: That’s a Gessford Machine (Hastings, NE) built, 100% new, all aluminum FE 427 with a Paxton NOVI 1200 blower hanging off the side. Gessford not only builds huge horsepower motors they’re licensed by Shelby and their motors receive CSX numbers upon completion. You want a real Shelby mill? Gessford can build you one from stock to insane, which is about the end of the spectrum where this beast lies. The foundation is a Shelby aluminum block, stuffed with a Shelby billet crank, H beam connecting rods and low compression (for the boost) forged pistons. The heads are Shelby pieces as well, styled after the “medium riser” Ford pieces but with larger 2.25/1.75 valves and more efficient ports. Up front, you’ll find a Shelby cast aluminum timing cover and water pump while a single plane Shelby intake resides on top. While that would be enough power for most, this isn’t a car for the masses, so Gessford added a Paxton NOVI 1200 supercharger hanging from custom billet engine brackets for even more go power. We figure the motor’s worth better than 700HP, and Gessford’s tab was north of $40,000. Supporting pieces include the MSD 6BTM ignition box and billet distributor, a set of ceramic coated headers, a mega dollar AVIAID dual kickout fabricated aluminum oil pan and Florida Central Machine spark plug wires. There’s an SFI damper up front and an SFI aluminum flywheel inside the scattershield in back. The polished blower, discharge piping and the fabricated and Shelby-logo’d valve covers handle the show duties. The headers dump into 2.’5” pipes with Magnaflow mufflers before exiting through the rockers-you have to hear this car to believe it. This is a serious sounding and running engine with few equals on the street.

The rest of the drivetrain is up to the task, with an aluminum crossflow radiator and dual fans handling the cooling, a hydraulically operated heavy duty clutch sending power to the TREMEC TKO500 transmission and a custom driveshaft leading back to a FAB9 3.70:1 9” rear axle with Strange axles and a Detroit Locker. There’s no hack job here, either-Exotic Concepts in Longwood, Florida, did the work. Sure, some cars look the part, and some even have huge engines, but how many do you see with ALL of the proper supporting equipment?

Stay underneath and see the chassis is all there, too. An ABS master cylinder with electrically operated Hydroboost powers Wilwood four piston calipers with two piece drilled rotors. There’s an adjustable proportioning valve for fine tuning and aluminum rotor hats for less unsprung weight. Total Control’s front suspension setup with coilover shocks, fabricated control arms with Heim joints, rack and pinion steering and a billet strut tower brace. Out back you’ll find a fully adjustable four link suspension with coilovers and a Panhard rod. Again, many pretenders but very few cars go this far!

The visuals are all in place, too. The already beautiful fastback body looks downright deadly in its Eleanor body kit and Super Snake bulge hood. There’s a racing style fuel filler in the C pillar, big PIAA driving lights in the gaping grille, full rocker panels with aluminum exhaust tips, hood pins, stripes and all new glass and trim. New chrome pieces from the door handles down add sparkle while the “wow” factor gets turned up to 11 with the Compomotive 17” TRUE knockoff wheels and tri-bar center caps, wrapped in Dunlop 275/40/17 front and 315/35/17 HTR Z tires. The body is perfectly smooth, the work of known Shelby expert Dave Miller in Florida. All of the Shelby pieces are in place from the big snakes to the sequential taillights out back. Is there any wonder this car took down the best of show trophy in its only outing?

The cockpit is an excellent place to while away the miles, or to be a complete hooligan-the car does either with aplomb. You’re sitting in very comfortable leather racing seats and held in place with RJS camlock harnesses. Your left hand is on the Moto-Lita wood wheel with Shelby center cap (all atop a tilt column) while your right hand finds the shifter with the awesome “GO BABY GO” shift knob. Look over your right shoulder-that’s a 10lb NOS nitrous bottle hooked to the Ny-Trex wet system in the engine bay. It’s jetted for a 125HP shot, for those just-in-case moments! The center console features a new Shelby armrest pad, a custom stainless insert with power window switches, fuel pump and nitrous arming switches, and three of the Auto Meter Phantom series gauges you’ll find everywhere you look. ’67 Door panels were tapped for duty (they’re a cleaner look) with wheel center cap logos over the holes where the window cranks would normally poke through. How’s that for detailed? A four point rollbar, the nitrous bottle and a fiberglass rear seat delete ride behind you, while a fire extinguisher rides shotgun. We wouldn’t want you to be uncomfortable, either, so there’s an Old Air Products heating and air conditioning system installed. And yes, it’s as cool to be in here as you’re thinking.

Few cars get everything right, and this is one of them. We’re no stranger to customs and pro touring cars, and we can honestly tell you this beast is a standout. From ozone depleting burnouts to taking down trophies everywhere to cruising in style and comfort this car does it all!

If you watched the recent Scottsdale auctions, you already know that duplicating big-name muscle cars is big business. Last year, we featured a stunning black cherry 1970 Chevelle LS5 convertible that was about the most beautifully executed clone we’d ever seen, and it sold for $75K substantial sum to a very happy enthusiast. Just two months ago, we sold a Fathom Blue LS5 Convertible tribute for $80,000.00 and we had five guys asking us when we would be getting another, while lamenting being too slow to pull the trigger.

But in reality, nothing compares to the real deal, especially when you’re talking about high-end investment-grade cars like this 1970 Chevelle SS convertible. Yes, it is a real SS, a real LS5 car, and has been authenticated by none other than Jerry MacNeish of Camaro High Performance. It packs a date-code correct engine and transmission, and has been highly detailed for show. Only 4574 LS5s were built in 1970, and of those, only a fraction were convertibles, making this a very rare piece indeed. See more, click on read more and take a look at the gallery!

One of the more popular colors in 1970, Fathom Blue is a deep, rich metallic blue that looks spectacular on the smooth flanks of this Chevelle, and it’s also one of the most desirable colors today. Beautifully applied over first-rate bodywork using two-stage urethane, this car is show-ready today with nothing else needed. White SS stripes tie in perfectly with the Ivory interior and give it a traditional Chevelle performance look. Look at the way the panels line up and how even the gaps are all around—it’s rare to find this in a 41-year-old convertible, especially one that has been armed with a thumping big block its entire life. The cowl induction hood is fully functional, and the stripes have been embedded under the clear as is customary these days in high-end restorations. And it has all been wet sanded and buffed to a mirror-like shine.

Chrome, including the bumpers, hood pins, and badges, are all spectacular with no issues. The rear bumper features correct SS inserts, and the parking light and taillight lenses are fresh reproductions. There’s a lot of stainless trim on these cars as well, from the windshield surround to the wheel arches, and it has all been professionally straightened and polished until it matched the chrome’s brilliance. Glass is new all around, including the rear window on the snug-fitting convertible top.

The engine is a date-code correct replacement LS5 big block. It features a T0424CVQ assembly date, and it is a correct 454-360 horsepower V8 engine. The block number is 3963512, casting date D20-70. The engine block deck has been machined and sanded with sanding marks to make it appear original, which is crucial for points judging at the highest levels. Details are accurate throughout, from the hoses and clamps, to the Delco battery, to the freshly plated master cylinder and power brake booster. Chrome valve covers were part of the LS5 package, and combined with the bright Chevy Orange engine block and heads, the motor itself really pops inside this engine bay. Other details, colors, and markings are authentic, too. And in case you’re wondering, yes, it runs even better than it looks. Twist the key and it fires to life with a rumbling idle that tells you this is no ordinary grocery-getter Malibu, and the LS5 seems to have endless reserves of torque out on the open road.

This particular LS5 is backed by a durable M40 Turbo 400 3-speed automatic transmission, #413, with a 70-CR-1928 tag on right side of transmission. Like the engine, it’s correct for the car and extra steps have been taken to make it as authentic as possible for judging at the highest levels. Out back, a familiar Chevy 12-bolt rear packing 3.31 gears and a Posi unit transmits the power to the pavement. It sports a CCW0423B1 assembly date, with casting number 3969278NF on the pumpkin itself. The rest of the chassis is just as accurate, with satin black floors that show no signs of rust or previous damage. Correct shocks live at all four corners, with spiral shocks out back. An authentic dual exhaust system has been installed, correct down to the chrome tips under the rear bumper, and you’ll be delighted to see reproduction stickers and tags used throughout the chassis. 14-inch SS wheels wear reproduction F70-14 Goodyear Polyglas bias-ply tires, so this Chevelle rides and handles just as it would have when it was new.

Inside, you’ll find one of the most spectacular interiors we’ve seen in a long time. The Ivory looks simply amazing against the Fathom Blue paint, and is a much better choice than basic black, especially for a convertible that is going to spend a lot of time out in the sun. This is, of course, an original bucket seat car, and the interior has been fully restored to stock specifications. The seat-covers and foam are new, door panels are refreshed, and the dash pad has been replaced. Running down the center of it all is a full-length console with GM’s great-looking horseshoe shifter. The gauges look restored, with crisp faces and good chrome on the surrounds. New black carpets match the beautifully fitted black convertible top, which fits so snugly that there are no wrinkles or sags to be found. When it is folded, a new matching Ivory boot covers the top stack for a finished look. And in the trunk, spatter finish paint is protected by a correct trunk mat, matching spare tire, along with a complete jack assembly.

This is also a nicely documented car that includes items like the original owner’s manual and warranty booklet, as well as the original Protect-O-Plate which indicates that this car was sold new at Tom Gassett United Chevrolet, Inc., 495 Shrewsbury Street, Worcester, MA on September 27, 1970, likely making it among the last 1970 Chevelles sold before the 1971s started rolling out.

In today’s world of collector cars, it’s important to be careful with what you’re buying. The true investment-grade cars are those with documented proof that they are what they appear to be, and the best cars to own are those that have been correctly and authentically restored. This Chevelle is all that, being a real LS5 wearing its factory-issued colors, and carefully restored using date-code correct pieces. Oh, and it’s also beautifully finished and detailed to a level that will compete for trophies at any show. Engine swaps have been around from the earliest days of motoring. More sophisticated hot rodders pioneered chassis swaps to get more performance and less weight. But rare is the car that can so seamlessly blend two completely different vehicles as seamlessly as this 1971 Plymouth Barracuda convertible. You see, that body is just an illusion, because underneath it’s a 2001 Dodge Viper, complete with a thundering 450 horsepower V10, 6-speed manual transmission, and fully independent suspension. What’s truly exceptional, however, is how beautifully built the entire car is, and the engineering required is truly mind-boggling. Why, just for starters, note that it’s now a two-seater, just like the Viper, although the proportions of the ‘Cuda body remain unchanged. How cool is that? Starting out with a clean, complete 318-powered ’71 ‘Cuda convertible, Time Machines in Hudson, Florida was contracted to mate the two different vehicles, having experience in such things after building the award-winning “Six Shooter.” The body was gutted and stripped, with the floors removed but saving the front subframe, rockers, and radiator cradle. After the conversion (which we’ll talk more about in a few moments), the entire body was refinished to show condition using 100% original ‘Cuda sheetmetal and no fiberglass. Bright Viper Red paint was appropriately selected to cover the radical new E-body, and the two-stage urethane looks about a mile deep, even out in the bright sun. If you’re going to build a car like this, there’s no point in keeping it subtle. Notice the trick details like the custom-made billboards which feature a Viper logo in place of the usual engine size designation. And the forward-tilting hood is both a tribute to the original Viper setup and an extremely trick way to attract a TON of attention at any car show. Open this sucker up and you’ll be able to sell admission tickets.

All the original chrome and trim remain, including the freshly plated bumpers, as well as items like the door handles and side gills. Bright stainless was polished up and reinstalled around the windshield, and the stock hood was upgraded with a set of “Viper Powered” badges from an SRT-10 pickup. The original grille has been repainted in the stock argent silver, and the blacked-out tail panel looks factory fresh, and is perhaps the only stealth part of the entire build—there’s not even a stock ‘Cuda badge back there. The overall look is incredibly stock, yet extremely impressive.

Now, about that chassis swap.

The foundation of this car is a 23,000-mile 2001 Viper, which was purchased from X2 Collision, who specializes in wrecked Vipers. They delivered this fully intact chassis sans bodywork, to Time Machines for the conversion. For the most part, the conversion was straightforward, but the tricky part was getting the A-pillars lined up, which is why Time Machines fabricates a special all-steel dashboard to make that transition, and special brackets to mount the stock ‘Cuda sheetmetal fenders. But otherwise the Viper mechanicals made the translation 100% intact. The drivetrain is completely stock—with 450 horsepower on tap, do you really need upgrades? That also ensures that it idles, drives, and behaves like a stocker, which means easy driving with no worries. Look closely and you’ll see just how OEM the conversion really is—note factory hose clamps, air filter assembly, and even cables actuating the dual throttle bodies. Custom sheetmetal panels were fabricated to frame the V10 in the ‘Cuda’s engine bay, and it’s obvious that there was a ton of fabrication involved, seeing how the engine is snuggled up under the windshield for improved weight distribution. It fires up like a stock Viper, idles perfectly, and is happy to drive in rush hour traffic without getting cranky or overheating, all signs of an OEM, not a homemade project. One of this car’s coolest tricks is the electrically-operated hood, which uses a massive actuator to effortlessly open and tilt the assembly forward, an extra step that few other customizers would have pursued.

The chassis is also from the Viper, and features a bulletproof Tremec 6-speed manual transmission and a heavy-duty 3.07 rear end that can handle massive holeshots and not break a sweat. The Viper already uses a fabricated tube frame, so grafting it to the ‘Cuda’s unibody was relatively easy. Custom floors were created to fit the body tightly over the frame, and the suspension was fortified with a set of Aldan coilover shocks, but otherwise it would look familiar to any Chrysler tech at the dealership. The exhaust is handled by a custom dual setup that uses glasspacks and resonators that dump out just under the rear bumper, and bystanders will undoubtedly do a double-take when they hear 10 cylinders fire up. More than two years were invested in getting the chassis setup exactly correct, and today it drives like a stocker with no questionable handling, no bone-rattling ride, just a smooth, fully engineered piece that can cruise like a factory-built car. It even rides on stock Viper SRT 6-lug wheels, 18 inches in the front and 19 inches in the rear, that wear 275/35/18 front and 335/30/19 rear Michelin Pilots.

As you can imagine, the interior was a big challenge, but the transformation from 5-passenger to 2-seater is seamless. Time Machines fabricated a custom all-steel dashboard that not only houses the original Viper gauges, but provides the right setback for the engine and allows the interior proportions to be adjusted to fit those two Viper bucket seats. The transition between the dash and door panels is especially well done, blending Viper and ‘Cuda shapes until you can’t even see where one ends and the other begins. The dash is very driver-oriented and recalls the Viper with its simple leather-wrapped surfaces and white-faced gauges, and the mileage shown is on the original Viper drivetrain. The power window and lock switches were relocated to the console, and the Viper’s stubby shifter protrudes just enough to make the shifts. And there’s just nothing like the power of an OEM climate control system, which delivers effective heat and A/C that no vintage or retrofit system could ever match. A new Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo has been fitted to the dash, with speakers in the rear area that has been completely resculpted to eliminate the back seat, yet still provide a sleek top-down profile. A stock black convertible top operates as it should, and all four windows seal up tightly. The trunk has been upholstered to match, and houses electronics for the stereo system.

This is a well-known car, having appeared in several magazines including the February 2011 issue of “Mopar Action.”
This is an extremely impressive car that has been professionally engineered and built to the highest standards. It will run the tires off a stock Hemi ‘Cuda, and handles like a Viper, which is no mean feat. With OEM-grade mechanicals that will last virtually forever and the ability to be serviced at any Chrysler dealership in the world, it’s a no-compromises car that encompasses the best of both worlds. We’re all familiar with the term ‘resto-mod’ and how it gets thrown around to describe cars which

1) haven’t been restored that well and

2) haven’t been modded that much at all.

But, simply put, the true theme of the ‘resto-mod’ movement is: THE BEST OF EVERYTHING. And if there was ever a textbook example of a true-to-form ‘resto-mod’, this 1971 Dodge Challenger has to be it. Showcasing the hard work of a very skilled builder who understands how to enhance the best attributes of a slick, frame-off restoration, this badass Mopar features a slew of handpicked, top-shelf parts which create a classic that can be shown AND driven with the best muscle cars on the road.

Take one glance at this Challengers wet-look Plum Crazy Purple exterior and it’s obvious that the cars top-notch restoration was both thorough and expensive. Take two or three minutes to look down the sides of this rock solid Dodge and you’ll find exact angles and flawless reflections which set it apart from all but it’s most extensively restored peers. Today this Challenger is a highly appealing, purpose built muscle car that conveys a sense of power and precision.

Wearing lines from same designer who was made famous by the awesome 1966 Dodge Charger, this purple and black Challenger makes a bold styling statement from virtually every angle. Up front, a tough looking split grille hangs a showroom fresh “Dodge” emblem inside of four showroom fresh headlights and well maintained stainless trim. Below that grille, a body width chrome bumper hangs above clear parking lights and a Trans Am style chin spoiler; and above that grille, new hood pins sit in front of bright “Hemi” hood emblems. Behind the hood, like-new glass is bordered by excellent looking stainless trim which combines with new chrome drip rails and excellent looking chrome sport mirrors to frame a fresh black vinyl top. And at the sides of the car, prominent fender lines are complemented by new stainless wheel well trim, flush satin finish door handles and a pristine chrome fuel cap. Just behind the front tires high mounted “Challenger” scripts serve to intimidate would-be stoplight competition, and just in front of the rear tires, body-matched louvers add to the cars aggressive Trans Am looks. At the back of the car, a stainless trimmed rear valence holds showroom fresh tail lights and a third “Challenger” script inside a black tail light panel. And a second chrome bumper hangs built in bumper guards above a sculpted roll pan which incorporates awesome quad outlet stainless steel exhaust tips.

Big blocks were still on the menu in 1971, but they were NOTHING like the badass mill under this Challengers flat black hood. Fitting snug and looking sharp in this cars Plum Crazy Purple engine bay is a dyno tuned 528 cubic inch Indy Cylinder Heads Street Legend Hemi that produces a 10.25 to 1 compression ratio and 650 horsepower straight out of the box. The fully worked 528 Street Legend package comes with an 850cfm Mighty Demon carburetor, an MSD Pro-Billet distributor, MSD Super Conductor wires, Indy 426 cast iron heads, an Indy 426 intake, an MP 4340 crank, Eagle H-beam rods, Wiseco pistons, a Comp Cams hydraulic cam, Comp Cams hydraulic lifters and a Milodon oil pan. But wait, there’s more; at the top of the purple engine, a K&N air filter sits above braided fuel lines for the Demon carburetor and pre-requisite Indy valve covers. At the sides of the engine, custom fabricated and ceramic coated long tube headers hide under a polished SSBC master cylinder and hoses for the cars Vintage Air climate control system. And at the front of the engine a March serpentine system spins billet pulleys and a chrome alternator below fresh hoses and a new belt. Turn the switch and an Optima gel cell battery sparks an MSD Blaster 2 coil and MSD 6AL ignition to spring the engine to life; and a Be Cool aluminum radiator utilizes two Spal electric fans to keep everything cool and in check. Although much of it is hidden under the massive Indy Hemi, this cars entire engine bay is exceptionally well done. You can easily see that the paint on the inner fenders is as good as the finish on a lot of cars’ bodies and virtually every accessory has been detailed in aftermarket billet and stainless to add a nice, finished look.

The chassis under this Challenger is what we like to call properly restored, with an even coat of satin black covering clean, solid floors, and absolutely no over-restored painted components. Behind the engine a modern Tremec TKO500 5-speed transmission sends power to a narrowed Moser 8.74 rear end that’s been detailed in fresh coat of gloss black paint. At the sides of that transmission, a large diameter true dual exhaust system sends spent gases through an H-pipe to Flowmaster dual chamber mufflers which give the big Hemi a super aggressive bark to match its lethal bite. At the front of the car, an upgraded torsion bar suspension includes adjustable upper control arms and adjustable strut rods, and at the corners of the car, fresh QA1 shocks sit behind an SSBC four wheel disc brake system which includes slotted rotors and bright red calipers. Slow speed turns are a cinch thanks to power rack and pinion steering, handling is greatly enhanced by aftermarket sub frame connectors, and an aluminum fuel tank with an internal pump feeds the big engine an uninterrupted stream of fuel. All this great hardware rides on an excellent looking set of 17 inch polished aluminum Centerline wheels which wear sticky 235/45 front and 255/50 rear BF Goodrich G-force T/A radials.

Inside the car, you’ll find a great looking black interior that, like the drivetrain and exterior, takes the best elements of a traditional muscle car and fuses them with awesome new technology. The driver and passenger sit on custom leather bucket seats that look good and feel great; and a chrome TKO pistol grip shifter sits on a traditional Challenger console that’s complete with a custom purple inlay. In front of the driver, a straight and simple black dash features an assortment of silver faced Autometer Pro Comp Ultra Lite gauges which, along with a traditional 3-spoke Challenger steering wheel, have been fully detailed in Plum Crazy Purple. Below those gauges, a modern Alpine CD player, which features both XM satellite radio and MP3 compatibility, sends tunes to custom kick panels and a custom package tray which hold an assortment of excellent sounding Audison speakers. Below those Audison speakers, the car’s trunk is filled with a completely custom sound system which includes two Rockford Fosgate amps, two giant Rockford Fosgate subwoofers and more body-matched custom panels.

Documentation included with this sale is a reproduction owner’s manual and a stack of receipts and paperwork for the cars numerous upgrades.

Challengers don’t get any nicer than this one, and regardless of whether you want to show it or drive it, this is a no-excuses car. Big block power, a modern 5-speed transmission and a tailored interior that is purpose-built for driving? Life just doesn’t get any better than that.

In the world of modern hot rodding, a top notch build is all about components and pedigree. That’s why Boyd Coddington was dubbed ‘The Hot Rod King’. He had an uncanny ability to take a vintage car and radically transform it using custom fabricated components and a keen eye for outrageous design. During the 90s Coddington hired a talented young designer by the name of Chip Foose and together they would create some of the most timeless and unique hot rods ever put on four wheels. Based on the Boydster show car originally penned by Chip Foose, this spectacular 1932 Boydster roadster features the absolute best of everything from its custom pearl flames to its fully chromed 502 Ram jet engine; and in addition to being a feature car in American Rodder magazine, has taken home trophies from some of the most exclusive hot rod shows in the country. Painted and assembled by Chris Tietge’s Hot Rod Garage in Lebanon Ohio this sweet looking Ford is the kind of car that we all dream of owning as kids and pledge to build as adults. It absolutely nails the often attempted, but rarely achieved formula of OEM quality good looks and panel fit in a highly detailed, completely custom package. The straight and smooth body is covered in a thick coat of vivid GM Torch Red and topped by an amazing custom pearl flame job courtesy of Wade Hughes from Ohio Flames. It’s an unbeatable combination on a car that is so well done you’ll find yourself walking back to it again and again just to stare and smile.

With think resin throughout and no waves or imperfections, the cars steel reinforced fiberglass body takes the classic design of a ’32 Ford roadster and adds numerous details which take it to a whole new level. At the front of the car, a pristine D.F. Metalworks stainless steel grille presents flatter and wider than a traditional ’32 Ford grille and sits between two chrome trimmed headlights with body matched housings and integrated turn signals. Behind the grille, the traditional looking ’32 Ford hood has been extended to better accommodate massive powerplants and gives the car that cool ‘long and low’ look that emphasizes power. Behind the hood, a modern wrap around windshield trades in the distracting hard edged look of traditional chopped and stainless framed windshields for a smooth custom look that emphasizes the cars clean design. Below that windshield, shaved suicide doors carry modern body matched sport mirrors and fit perfectly, opening with ease and closing with a confident ‘thunk’. Below the doors, custom fiberglass fenders flow from the car’s front frame horns to the bottom of the rear valence giving the traditional roadster body some nice modern curves. Out back, a custom tan top that was fabricated by Tietge’s Hot Rod Shop sits above a thin LED tail light that spans the entire width of the cars smooth rear valence. Below the trunk, a completely retractable license plate hangs just above the ground in front of a finned rear end cover and chrome inboard mounted brakes.

Pry open the long hood and you’ll find a fully chromed GM Performance Parts Ram Jet 502 that takes up the car’s entire Torch Red engine bay. Straight from GM, this killer package includes high efficiency aluminum heads, an aluminum intake, forged aluminum pistons, forged steel connecting rods, a forged steel crank, a hydraulic roller cam, a fully calibrated ECM, electronic fuel injection and a stout 9.6 to 1 compression ratio that creates 510 horsepower and 565 lb./ft. of unmatched throttle response. Lighting fires for that massive engine is a new American Autowire harness that sends power through a GM coil and distributor to red high performance Taylor plug wires. At the front of the motor a reusable air filter hangs above a Vintage Air Front Runner serpentine system that clears the cars radiator mounted electric fan by about an inch, perfectly displaying the laser precision executed throughout this build. Aesthetically, the car has been completely finished for show with all of its ancillary components like the chrome alternator, chrome AC compressor, polished valve covers, coated long-tube headers and braided hoses still looking brilliant and the simple and uncluttered engine bay appearing more like industrial sculpture than a functioning automobile.

The cars custom-built frame was supplied by Boyd Coddington and consists of a heavily tapered chassis that is reinforced by tubular cross members. A polished Heidt’s style front suspension features stainless steel upper and lower control arms, chrome QA1 coil-over shocks, a Flaming River manual steering rack and Wilwood performance brakes with drilled rotors and chrome calipers. The cars polished Corvette inspired independent rear suspension features inboard Wilwood disc brakes with polished calipers, two more polished QA1 coil overs and a cool finned differential cover. Exhaust is handled by a custom fabricated and completely polished oval exhaust system that includes stainless Hushpower mufflers, and a 6-speed manual transmission that was transplanted from an LT4 Corvette provides motivation via a body matched driveshaft and pavement shredding 3.73 gears. Everything under this car has been painted in brilliant Torch Red and, as with the engine bay, all componentry has been upfitted to show standards with polished brake and fuel lines, new braided hoses and a custom fuel tank rounding out the details. At the corners of the car, 16 inch front and 18 inch rear Boyd Coddington wheels wear 205/50 and 255/45 Z-rated Goodyear radials.

You can credit Steve Holcomb at Pro Auto Custom Interiors for this roadster’s stunning, show-stopping interior. Covered in high quality cream leather, the bucket seats were custom fabricated just for this car and the overall design is simple and effective. At the floor, a custom cream console flows from the dash to the middle of the seats and houses a GM 6-speed shifter, controls for the cars Vintage Air HVAC system and buttons for the power windows. At the sides of the seats, custom cream door panels flow around great looking billet door handles, and at the bottom of the seats high-end tan wool carpeting sits below chrome pedals and thick tan mats. In front of the driver, a painted tilt steering column is topped by a custom Boyd Coddington steering wheel, and the painted dash is equipped with a Billet Specialties aluminum panel that holds reliable Classic Instruments gauges. Behind the cockpit you’ll find a fully finished trunk that perfectly matches the cream interior and hides a Secret Audio AM/FM radio.

It was named Boyd Coddington’s Pros Pick at the 2005 Goodguys Nationals in Columbus, Ohio.
It received Best of Show – Street Rod at the 2005 Ohio’s Open Run in Lebanon, Ohio.
It placed sixth in the ’32 Altered Street Roadster class at the 2006 Detroit Autorama in Detroit, Michigan
It was Boyd Coddington’s Pros Pick – Best Bitchin’ at the 2007 Goodguys Nationals in Columbus, Ohio
It received Best of Show at the 2011 New Lebanon Car Show in New Lebanon, Ohio

Included with the car is a few extra parts, two copies of the American Rodder issue it was featured in, extensive receipts and manuals about the details of its construction and photos of the entire process.

What an incredible way to end a wonderful year! Chevrolet muscle car collectors, wake up! I don’t know about you but I had never seen one of these cars in my life until this jewel arrived at our dealership a few days ago. Please feast your eyes on this perfect, rotisserie restored, numbers matching and fully documented 1970 Chevrolet El Camino SS 454 LS6. It seems that only (2) of these incredible vehicles have surfaced in the last decade or so and they were both bench-seat, auto-on-the column cars. To obtain a real 1970 Chevrolet El Camino SS 454 LS6 with its original factory Muncie M22 4-Speed transmission is truly a Chevrolet collectors dream!

When she was built on the first week of February 1970, she was obviously built for one reason and one reason only, going very fast from point A to point B. The fact that she was ordered with Cowl Induction, Factory Tachometer, Power Front Disc Brakes and the Radio Delete Option states the obvious. Early in life, she was raced and was very well known in the Kitimat BC area (see vintage photos and newspaper clippings). Fast forward to 2011. A no-expense spared, concours nut & bolt restoration was just completed on this LS6 El Camino and she retains her original numbers matching motor, original numbers matching Muncie M22 4-Speed Transmission and the original 4.10 positraction rear axle. The body & frame were walnut blasted to take everything down to bare metal and every nut & bolt was detailed. The sheet metal is laser straight and the body panels are perfectly aligned.
