2014 Cadillac XTS and CTS as well as 2014 Buick Regal and 2014 Chevrolet Impala have all earned five stars given by Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) via their rating program on front crash prevention. These General Motor vehicles are all considered industry leaders when purchased with GM’s available Front Automatic Braking system. This important safety technology is not only available on GM’s luxury Cadillac products, but also on the more mainstream Chevrolet and Buick vehicles.
The IIHS previously recognized GM for front end safety, bestowing its highest safety rating – the 2014 Top Safety Pick +, on the 2014 Chevrolet Equinox, GMC Terrain, and Chevrolet Malibu. The main contributor for this high score was the available forward collision alert. The Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain are the only midsize SUVs out of the nine evaluated to earn “Good” ratings in the IIHS’s small overlap front crash test.
