2016 Ford GT FIA Front AngleAutosport International will be hosting the incredible all-new Ford GT racing car, giving visitors a chance to be among the first in the world to see the new WEC racer in the flesh, and hear from two of its star drivers.

The Ford GT will be taking to the race circuits of the world in the FIA World Endurance Championship this year, including the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans race in June, 50 years on from Ford’s now-legendary 1-2-3 finish.

Among the four drivers competing with Ford in WEC are two Brits: Andy Priaulx and Marino Franchitti. Autosport International marks the first time that motorsport fans can hear the two drivers speaking about the project live at the show. Both Franchitti and Priaulx will be on the Autosport Stage at 12:00 on Friday 15 January and at 12:45 on Saturday 16 January.

Andy Priaulx is a triple World Touring Car Champion and winner of the Nurburgring 24 Hours, while Marino Franchitti is a former winner of the Sebring 12 Hours with Chip Ganassi Racing-Ford in 2014.

The all-new Ford GT will be joined at Europe’s premier pre-season motorsport event by countless other incredible racing features and famous faces. Fans can see historic Williams Formula One cars, the Le Mans-winning Porsche 919 Hybrid, and listen to incredible interviews with motor racing icons like Damon Hill, Felipe Massa and Petter Solberg.

Ian France, Autosport International Show Director, said: “The Ford GT World Endurance race car is heading straight from its world debut to Autosport International, so it really will be an exclusive opportunity for UK fans to see this incredible racing car up close. It’s just another indication that this year’s show is shaping up to be the best yet, with countless Le Mans winners, Formula 1 legends and incredible stunt displays taking place across the weekend.”
