Although from the outside the 2013 BMW 7 Series looks very similar to 2012’s package, having given it only a minimum revamp it offers an all-new set of V-8 engines, a revamped ActiveHybrid7 model, 8-speed automatic transmissions, and a new batch of infotainment systems as well as an higher version of the iDrive interface mode.

There’s plenty to enthuse about the 2013 fifth generation of the 7-Series with its nice amount of kick to the shape, more kick in its tail, and with a longer-wheelbase adding, another 5.5 inches of back-seat legroom. Front cabin seats in the new 7-Series are slimmer, more curvy exclusive of adjustable thigh bolsters, if you haven’t had these out on a long road trip will give you an ache free trip. The 7-Series has a reputation for offering superb, multi variant-adjustable seats good for keeping your body you sore-free over long stretches of treacherous roads.

For 2013, all 7-Series models now get an air suspension system, as well as dynamic damping, which enables the driver to fine-tune the ride and handle responsiveness dictated to by road conditions. Also for 2013, new muted ambient lighting, better sound insulation, and other small changes to the interior make it a more comfortable and give a more peaceful ride.  In the 750i models, the dual-turbo 4.4-liter V-8 now engines out 445 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque. Also an Attention Assist Warning system monitors the driver’s behavior and displays a coffee cup picture if it detects a level of fatigue.

An updated version of BMW’s iDrive soft-ware has been added in all 7 Series models. There is a real time new navigation system, which adds 3D elements to the display, thanks to the powerful 1.3-GHz processor and a 3D graphics card, improving the overall ease and delivery speed of the system as well. And what makes this latest iDrive soft-ware better is its updated the menu system, updated navigation displays, and voice control–including voice-to-text features and other voice editing software.

The list of hopeful carmakers that bit the dust goes into the hundreds. Most of us haven’t even heard of most of them. Some lasted up to ten to fifteen years, while most only survived a few months to a year. Chrysler could have been one of those short-lived automakers, but Walter Chrysler had vision, confidence and know-how. He took a failing company, the Maxwell Motor Company and turned it around and put his name on it. From then on, it seemed like it couldn’t fail.

After maintaining second place in car sales in the U.S. for many years, Chrysler did hit some hard times, just like every other car manufacturer. The early seventies hit everyone pretty hard with an oil crisis. That forced the Big Three, (GM, Ford and Chrysler), to take a really close look at what they were doing and what the public wanted to buy. Since gas prices went through the roof, people just didn’t want, or rather couldn’t afford, the big gas-guzzlers any longer. The lack of enthusiasm for big cars moved Chrysler to the point of considering bankruptcy. Chrysler went back to the drawing board and came up with more fuel-efficient cars. They also went out and bought an existing brand of cars: American Motors Corporation. This new purchase brought with it the Jeep brand, which moved Chrysler into profitability.

Chrysler merged with Daimler-Benz, the makers of Mercedes-Benz, in 1988. The company changed its name to DaimlerChrysler. This marriage apparently didn’t work out very smoothly for either party and Chrysler was sold to an investment group called Cerberus Capital Management. The name changed again to Chrysler LLC in 2007. The economic slowdown in the country in 2008 to 2010 hit Chrysler hard and the government loaned the company billions of dollars to help them stay open. Chrysler came out of the bankruptcy proceedings with four new owners, the U.S. government, the Canadian government, Fiat and the United Auto Workers pension fund.

Ultimately, Fiat gained majority control over Chrysler and the corporation is doing just fine, just check out arrigo palm beach’s website. In fact, from 2010 through 2012, Chrysler’s sales has had a continuous upswing in sales and sold over a million and a half vehicles in 2012.

EXTERIOR:

Chevrolet Beat is a sporty car with robust look. The head turner is packed with an elegant design and a stylish exterior look. ENGINE & MILEAGE:

The 1.2-litre petrol engine of Beat along with a displacement of 1197cc has performance, whereas the diesel has economy. Both are targeted for different set of clients. For less driving and power, the petrol is ideal. And diesel is best for those who travel more in the city. This car is endowed with a light weight DOHC engine. This reduces friction, performs better and offers clear emission. The Beat of diesel variant is powered with 1 Litre XSDE SMARTECH 3-cylinder Common Rail Diesel engine. A power output of 58.5 PS@4000 can be produced. Earl grew up designing custom automobile bodies in the family firm and he was especially good when it came to esthetic details.  So good that his designs eventually made their way to none other than Alfred Sloan who was then the president of General Motors.  It wasn’t long before Earl was hired and he was in put in charge of GM’s new department of “Art and Color”. In his new role, he flourished and pioneered many new automotive design techniques. One of the most famous is the full-size clay model technique of designing new cars.  This technique was adopted immediately by virtually all the automotive manufacturing firms of the day.

Earl was the primarily design influence behind many of the most defining artistic automotive details of the time.  For example, the elimination of running boards in the late 1930s is attributed to Harley Earl.  As well as automatic power convertible tops, the adoption of headlights fitted into front fenders, piller-less doors and, this one is big: the rear tail fin.

Earl also introduced the automobile business to another very successful new idea: the concept car.  Starting with his Buick Y-Job in 1938, concept cars became driving forces at car shows and were quite popular because they generated great enthusiasm and press for all involved.  Later concept cars attributed to Earl were the 1951 Buick Lasabre, 1956 Pontaic Club De Mer, 1956 Oldsmobile Golden Rocket, and the original 1954 Chevrolet Corvette.  As most automotive enthusiasts know, the Corvette has gone on to become the biggest selling sports car in history.

At the 2013 New York Auto Show, March 28^th to April 7^th, Chevrolet’s showed their new Z28.  The salesmen at Annville Auto in PA tell us it was the hit of the show.  Although journalists had been talking and exchanging rumors about the vehicle for months, few were prepared for the kit of performance features that the Z28 actually included.  First, the new Z/28 uses the dry-sump LS7 7.0-liter aluminum V8 from the Corvette Z06.  Rated at 500 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, this powerful engine gets unique free-flow induction and exhaust systems and a low-restriction K&N air filter.  The standard dual-mode exhaust system has larger-diameter pipes which actually bypass the mufflers during hard acceleration; things tend to get loud then.

The only transmission available is a six-speed manual with a 3.91:1 final rear end ratio. (No automatic transmissions allowed! ) The limited-slip differential uses a helical gear set in place of traditional clutch packs which Chevy says continuously adjusts torque bias during hard cornering.  The brake rotors are made of carbon/ceramic instead of heavier steel.  The body itself contributes to the performance profile by being more aerodynamic than a standard Camaro.

Plus it’s a lighter car.  The engineers at Chevrolet worked hard to trim down the Z/28 to fighting weight.  The result is that it weighs 100 pounds less than the new Camaro SS and 300 pounds less than the supercharged Camaro ZL1 model. That implies a curb weight of around 3,800 pounds. In fact, there is no sound deadening material anywhere in the interior nor carpeting in the trunk to save weight.  The sound system has just one-speaker (necessary for safety chimes) and rear glass is actually thinner than standard models. The front seats use manual adjusters for all settings (no electric motors). Fog lights and HID headlights are not available and the needed wiring was taken out of the harness to save weight. Air conditioning is strictly optional.

Chevrolet says the new 2014 Camaro will get some 14 mpg in the city and 19 on the highway.  It will be available in late 2103 and The Lynch Group says it will be priced in the $34,000 range.

Following World War II, Nissan Motor Company had been the standard for Japanese industrial progress. In the 1950s and 1960s, Nissan’s Datsun-brand automobiles were perceived as forerunners of modern design, reliability and value. In the late 1960s, sales growth around the world was phenomenal, and at the time, Datsun was the top-selling Japanese brand in the United States. In this economic climate, Nissan introduced the 240Z, the first Japanese sports car to be introduced into the United States.

Upon the car’s unveiling at the 1969 New York International Auto Show, Yutaka Katayama, the president of Nissan Motor Corporation in U.S.A, said, “The 240Z represents the imaginative spirit of Nissan and was designed to please a demanding taste that is strictly American. Nissan offers this spirited car with affection. Its heart is Japan and its soul is America.”

The arrival of the 240Z in the 1970 model year cemented Nissans reputation as a maker of leading-edge cars and trucks.  From the stylish, great-handling, affordable 510 sedan and wagon to the durable, tough-as-nails Datsun mini pickup truck, Nissan was becoming one of America’s favorite brands. By the mid-1970s, Datsun had passed Volkswagen as the best-selling import brand in the U.S. Datsun was well on its way to selling a million Zs worldwide in just two decades.

Every model of subsequent Zs have been developed with passion. In developing the 350Z, for example, the operative phrase they used to describe it was, “Lust, then love.” Chief Product Specialist John Yukawa explained. “The customer wants to purchase the Z at first sight because of its excellent design, And afterward, he goes on to love the Z forever because of its high performance.” It was this overriding principle that was to guide the 350Z’s design journey.

Today the Z lives on in the wonderful 370Z models.  If you live in NH and want to see a Nissan 370Z for yourself, by all means visit Team Nissan in Berlin and you will be in for a treat.  Forty years of successful innovation have produced quite a sports car.

However, if your travels are taking you to more remote locations than a large urban centre or plan on taking in some sights off the beaten track you may find that hiring a car is a convenient necessity. Online consumer forums are full of people claiming to have been ripped off or mistreated by car hire companies abroad, so you need to bear a few things in mind before signing a contract:

Keep it simple

Before you set off, you may have searched online for car hire firms in the vicinity of your stay. Although going with a smaller firm may shave a few pounds off the initial quote, it’s also a huge gamble. You will also have to face the additional expense of a taxi ride out to their depot. Most airports have a selection of big name hire companies to choose from, so why not save yourself some hassle and pick up your car as soon as you arrive. You may also find that the airline that you booked your flight with has a deal in place with one of these suppliers that can guarantee you a good rate.

The right deal

The same straightforward thinking should apply when looking at the hire deal itself. Optional extras are big money spinners for the hire companies and are rarely necessary, so keep your wits about you and resist any silky sales pitches while at the desk. Some car insurance companies will automatically cover you while driving a hired vehicle, so be wary of hire firms charging you hundreds of pounds for ‘collision damage waiver insurance’, or similarly titled options. If you are unsure whether your provider offers this as standard it is always best to check, and if not it can always be arranged as a one off purchase from a respected supplier such as Swiftcover in advance of your trip.

Before driving away in your hire car you should always take a moment to inspect the vehicle for existing damage. Most phones have good enough cameras these days to provide legally binding evidence that a scrape or dent was already there when you picked it up. If you are taking photos on a normal digital camera, make sure that you have adjusted the time and date settings from the factory default, so that you can prove when the photos were taken. This will only take you a few moments, but could save you a great deal of hassle.

Installed both front shocks (Koni Classic,) air cleaner mounting hardware, air filter, oil pressure sending unit boot, date-coded spark plug wires, one horn (was missing,) radiator fan shroud, transmission pan gasket, the entire exhaust system from the manifolds to the tips, sway bar bracket bushings, power steering hoses, rebuilt power steering “ram,” fuel cap emblem, both power top hydraulic cylinders, both front window cranks, emergency flasher button, driver side vent cable, washer fluid floor pad and the battery.  Tidied up some wiring, made sure all of the lights worked inside and out, and gave the car the once-over.  Being an old car, some of those items are forgivable, but this car must exceed expectations.   

When you think of significant muscle cars there are a few cars and names which come to mind. At the top of nearly every list you’ll find one ornery Texan, Carroll Shelby, and his fantastic reinterpretation of Ford’s Mustang. More desirable yet are the convertibles and the big block cars, and this gorgeous Sunlit Gold example here is both. When Shelby got done with it there were a pile of changes from the specific bodywork to the rollover bar to the Goodyear Speedway tires to the Stewart Warner “green line” gauges in the center stack. Completed, it went to Pletcher Ford Sales in Jenkintown, PA, where it was picked up on July 22, 1968 by its new owner, James W. Sole.

The build sheet, the copy of the invoice, the original tax form from 1968, receipts for various services throughout the years, the brochures and ads for the car, previous registrations and damn near every SAAC dash plaque and member card he owned are kept. There’s even an autograph from Carroll himself!

You like to see long-term ownership of a car – it means it was something special to the person behind the wheel and not just a toy. Mr. Sole loved the car, and wherever his job took him the Shelby followed. It spent time in Philly, Rochester, NY, Westport, CT, and Palos Verdes, CA before winding up in Rockport, MA. If you’d believe it Jim used the car for his daily transportation through 1989! He retired the car to weekend duty and had the car restored in the next couple of years by specialist Mike White in Bow, Mass. Finished in time for the 1993 show season it took Best Restored Antique at the 1993 Boston World of Wheels show against a ton of competition. Shunning a trailer even after the significant restoration he drove it to the 18th annual Shelby American Auto Club meet and took home silver in class – the highest score handed out for a driven car at the meet. The biggest point deductions? Jim installed a set of Koni shocks and reinstalled the 10 spoke alloy wheels he bought from Shelby in 1981–two big no-no’s in a structured event like that. Out of the 19 points deducted a whopping 13 of them were for the shocks and rolling stock! Suffice to say Mike’s talents and Jim’s dedication produced a gold level vehicle!

Desirable doesn’t always mean rare, and rare doesn’t always mean desirable, but this car is a rare case where both are true. One of only 402 GT500 convertibles produced in 1968, one of 249 with the 428/C6 combo and one of only 82 convertibles (both 350 and 500) in Gold over black. Not as racy as red, not as menacing as black this classic gold beauty speaks to a more refined palette, and is a tough one to find!

Let’s look at the evolution of this muscle car from it’s creators:

Larry’s been tearing around in this car (he calls it “development,” of course…) and wound up at Goodguys in Charlotte in October.  He was there to do some autocrossing, and finishes FOURTH overall out of more than 30 entries, including ALL of the pro class cars!  Not bad for an ‘ol Camaro with a guy who started autocrossing this summer behind the wheel, wouldn’t you say? Of course, the biggest change was bolting up a set of Forgeline centerlock wheels, 11″ wide in the front and 12″ wide in the rear.  We kept some flair with the polished lips, and the red locks echo the interior.  We dropped the car even further into the weeds now that it’s stiffer, and we can’t believe how this thing handles!

We’ve torn into the car again!  We’ve upgraded to an intercooled Magnacharger with 8psi of boost rather than the standard blower with 4psi.  This necessitated new coolers, and we went with an AFCO intercooler with twin SPAL fans as well as a CSR oil cooler with billet end tanks.  We’ve dumped some weight with a trick hood and decklid combo from Anvil, and JRi shocks are replacing the AFCO units.  There will be more by the time we’re finished!

Under the hood we added trick Katech valve covers and coil relocation brackets, upped the cooling with a new fan and baffled the power steering tank.  That’s the kind of stuff you figure out when you actually USE a car you build!

Inside you’re enveloped in materials beyond those found in any production Chevrolet, ever. Attitude rises from the faux ostrich pattern on the doors and dash, as well as the bright red seat and door panel inserts. We went with a Covan dash holding a full array of gauges, a classic chrome stick connected to the five speed below and billet touches as we saw fit. It’s buttoned down and bad ass all at the same time.

Obviously, the first thing that hits you is the bright orange pearl paint. It’s shiny and VERY attention-grabbing! The roof was painted a contrasting pearl white, and check out the airbrushed Impala logos on the C pillars! The trim is all there and generally very nice. Again, it’s not over the top, but this car was built to cruise! Gaps are nice, while the doors, hood and trunk close nicely. The big billet rally wheels at all four corners steal the show 18 in diameter, custom built for the car, and wrapped in Nitto NT555R high performance tires. The redlines were added by Diamondback tires, and you’ll see they’re so new the stickers are still on ‘em! Click on Read more to get more!

With this car’s mission set to driver, it was first in typical used car fashion, with little leaks and minor annoyances. Then the motor and engine compartment were pulled to detail, re-gasketed everything from the intake to the oil pan before coating the assembly in bright Chevrolet Orange. There were added a new water pump, new plugs, wires, cap and rotor, all new hoses, new belts, new battery cables, new filters, new fluids and more. While it was out, the firewall was painted along with the underside of the hood and the wheelwells in proper chassis black. Then rebuilt the steering cylinders, added new sway bar bushings, fixed the air ride system, bled the brakes and generally freshened everything touched! The engine is a mid 70′s 350, which has more torque than the original 283 could dream of, and with the HEI ignition and Edelbrock carb runs like it should.

Inside, the original SS-spec interior was customized from door panel to door panel and from the airbrushing on the dash to the bright white headliner! New seat covers, in brilliant white, are in place, matching the door panels and dash pad. The carpeting is bright orange to complement the exterior. The dash, painted the same color as the exterior, includes a flaming SS logo in front of the gauges too cool! This is a comfortable, full size car with attitude!

Underneath, clean floor pans are coated in undercoating and chassis black. Factory spec? Nah, but this car wasn’t meant to sit still! The control arms, frame and other suspension pieces are solid, with fresh or newer bushings at all points. Glasspacks add the right 60′s vibe while the Air Ride Technologies four corner system lets you set the ride anywhere or anyhow you like it. This is a car that looks great standing still but SCREAMS for the road ahead!

Iconic and powerful, gorgeous and ready to run, this ’64 has a ton going for it. Admit it you’ve wanted one of these cars, and were waiting for the right one to show up. This Impala is ready for show and go!

When the new 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 debuted at the SEMA show in Las Vegas on October 30, 2007, Dodge went looking for people with the talent to showcase the best of the original. Original drag race cars were found, restored originals wore assembly-line fresh restorations, and Insidious went as the embodiment of creativity and customization. Originally a C code slant six car, this cast-off Challenger was the perfect base for a radical creation. Salvaggio Auto Design (www.salvagioautodesign.com) drew up the car, performed numerous modifications to the body, completely reworked the chassis, installed a custom interior, and installed a 426 Hemi with Hillborn EFI. Start with the body. Of course, expected touches like shaved door handles and trim are present. To spot what’s different really requires another Challenger parked alongside: Shaved roof rail moldings, recontoured wheelwells, custom front fenders, flush-fit glass, a scratch-built grille and taillight panel, as well as zero exposed hardware. The hood skin was shaped from flat steel, the rear bumper was narrowed and drawn in, and the front grille, surround, header panel and front bumper are actually one piece. The fuel filter was relocated to the Dutchman panel, and uses a custom motorcycle pop-up screw cap. The paint merits its own discussion–it’s black pearl on all surfaces, but from the main contour on the sides down it’s overlaid with olive and sandstone pearls. When Mopar had it on display they used high-powered flood lights just to pick up on the color change.

Inside, no surface or material was left untouched. Where original Challengers were held to low quality materials for cost reasons, Insidious had no such limitations. If it was originally vinyl, it’s now leather, and then some. Polyester loop carpeting made way for genuine Wilton Wool, while the headliner is now Alcantara. The seats, covered front and back in Spinneybeck leather, feature suede leather inserts. The pistol grip shifter, again covered in leather, activates the Tremec TKO 600 transmission below. The Tuff steering wheel was redone in leather, and the spokes are painted the same color as the door panel inserts. The gauges are one-off pieces by Classic Instruments. Inspired by aircraft gauges they swing backwards–check out the pictures. The custom leather dash holds the power window, wiper and headlight switches, as well as access to the triple Tilton master cylinders for the brakes and clutch. A Pioneer DVD stereo with a flip-out screen takes care of the entertainment. Dynamat sound and heat insulation is used throughout the cabin. Vintage Air climate control keeps you cool in any weather.

Under the hood is a 426 Hemi crate engine from Mopar Performance. As this was an earlier crate Hemi, it suffered from valvetrain issues from the factory. Before this one was fired up, it got all new pieces to prevent a possible disaster. The cam was stepped up, too, and together with the Hillborn EFI system, custom headers and exhaust system, it puts out north of 575 horsepower. Our guys spent hours tuning the engine to start and run like a modern car–no small feat. Be Cool’s serpentine belt system is up front, holding all polished or painted accessories. What wiring wasn’t hidden is on display for effect. The color on the motor carries underneath, too–this is a thoroughly engineered project.

Flowmaster signed on to the project partway through, donating the first set of Super 44 mufflers available to the car. Sure, it’s loud, but it sounds great. Both front and rear suspensions are highly modified, and all four wheels are independently suspended. Coilovers are at all four corners, there’s rack-and-pinion steering up front and a Ford 9” center section out back with inboard disc brakes. Wilwood calipers are at all four corners for sure stops. Symbolic TS15 20″ wheels are at all four corners, mated to Pirelli PZero tires–a big 245/35/20 in the front and 275/35/20 out back.

Debuted on the Hot Rod Power Tour in 2007, the car met with rave reviews. Its subsequent ventures resulted in trophies: Awards include the Flowmaster American Thunder Award at the Goodguys Nationals in Columbus, OH, and the Goodguys Fab Five at the Goodguys Chicagoland Nationals, Chicago, IL. This is a first class showpiece for anyone looking for the ultimate custom Challenger or for someone who appreciates fine craftsmanship. Challengers simply don’t come better dressed than this one.

One of one…that phrase gets thrown around a little too often.  Usually, the reason there’s only one is simple:  Not one person wanted another.  This gorgeous Charger 500 here, though, certainly doesn’t qualify.  It’s one of the hottest limited production Mopars ever built, it’s Hemi powered, and white over red is on of the best combinations put together, ever, from the dawn of motoring to the present day.  Restored by Julius, finished to the nines and documented by Galen as the only white over red Hemi 500 this Charger is a star among stars. Peer over the flawlessly straight panels and realize W1 white is the perfect blank canvas for Dodge’s finest curves.  Massaged until they glowed every panel shows the quality and thoroughness for which Restorations by Julius is known throughout the Mopar community.  Up front you’ll find a restored grille held in place by all of the proper and 500-specific brackets.  Move over the mint fenders, super clean doors and arrow straight quarters to wind up at the signature Charger taillights.  Move over the greenhouse with excellent glass and highly polished trim to the 500-specific rear window plug and original decklid and you’ll see nothing was overlooked.  Painted steel wheels with dog dish center caps and new Firestone Wide Ovals and the red bumblebee stripe finish off the clean and businesslike exterior.  There are two known 440 cars in this color combination, too, but the Hemi up front changes desirability drastically.

Documentation is critical to the rarest cars and this one isn’t lacking–both its original fender tag and broadcast sheet are here.  Highlights include the A11 Aero package, A32 Super Performance Axle Package with the 4.10 Dana rear, W1 White paint, C6R red vinyl buckets, B41/B51 power disc brakes, W25 rocker moldings and the S81 sports woodgrain steering wheel.  Other than a tick tock tach in place of the factory clock this 500 was restored by the numbers.

Open the properly plated gray phosphate hood latches and examine the engine compartment carefully.  With the 4.10’s out back and a minimum of creature comforts it’s no wonder the engine shown here is a properly dated replacement rather than the original mill.  The proper 4619S and 4621S carbs are on the original intake manifold while an original dual point distributor is properly in place.  The rebuilt 426 sports all new parts on the inside and fresh, even paint outside–this is a show car, after all.  The rechromed air cleaner is up top, a correct 054 radiator is up front with an original transmission cooler and correct fasteners are everywhere.  Make no mistake about the car’s show credentials, though–this car’s still all “ate up with motor,” as the circle track guys like to say.

Put the car on a lift and see the original floorpans covered in factory-correct undercoating–Julius builds his cars to drive.  Correct parts run from the sway bar end links to the resonators in the exhaust, finished properly and new.  The big Dana and the 727 Torqueflite transmission were gone through, as were the fuel and braking systems.  This truly is a car with which you can gather show trophies and Saturday drag awards in the same day!

Inside you’ll find a host of original parts mixed sparingly with correct reproduction pieces.  You’ll sit on new upholstery on the seats while admiring new door panels, a new headliner and a new carpet set.  Performance Car Graphics-restored gauges sit in front of you lying behind rechromed instrument panel bezels.  The original seat belts hold you in place, rechromed armrest bases and handles are at your sides and the dash pads are excellent originals.

Few people get a chance to see a Hemi 500, and fewer people still can claim ownership.  Rare and desirable, this is one Mopar you don’t want to pass on!

Another way to confirm it is the real deal 1968 R code 4 Speed GT, are the staggered rear shocks that were only on the R Code 4 Speed cars. Overview
The Stage 3 Mustang is the pinnacle of the ROUSH “Stage” Mustangs. It builds off the styling from the Stage 1, the handling from the Stage 2, and adds its own piece of the pie, a supercharged 5.0L-4v powertrain. It is the perfect interfusion of styling, handling and brut power. The Stage 3 is everything a muscle car can and should be.

At the heart of the Stage 3 is the supercharged 5.0L-4v powertrain pumping out a massive 565 horsepower and 505 lb-ft of torque, more than enough power to crush you into the back of your seat at the stab of the throttle. Creating the extra power is the R2300 supercharger featuring Eaton’s® TVS (Twin Vortices Series) patented technology which delivers greatly enhanced thermal efficiency, produces higher volumetric capacity, and enables higher supercharger operating speeds, all of which allow for more power and better fuel efficiency in a smaller, lighter package. With the PCM calibrated by ROUSH engineers to the perfect combination of horsepower, drivability and durability, ROUSH feels completely comfortable offering an impressive 3 year/36,000 mile complete powertrain warranty.

Standard chassis components include a complete suspension system and an 18-inch by 10-inch cast aluminum, five spoke, chrome ROUSH wheel wrapped in the ROUSH/Cooper co-developed RS3 ultra high-performance tire. The suspension system consists of a larger, stiffer front stabilizer bar to reduce body roll and provide balanced, neutral handling. It also includes a unique ROUSH designed anti-wheel hop kit, twin-tube shocks with unique valving, increased rate springs as well as upgraded bushings and jounce bumpers. ROUSH chassis engineers spent thousands of hours in development and testing to create the perfect set up to aid in acceleration, cornering, stopping and ride quality.

As with the other “Stage” Mustangs the Stage 3 carries the 6th generation body package, referred to as the “R6″ aerobody package. The R6 aerobody package incorporates a newly designed ROUSH upper grille, high-flow lower grille, corner fascia aero pockets with driving lamps and front chin splitter. It also includes a new ROUSH hood scoop, rocker panel and rear fascia side splitters, a three-piece rear decklid spoiler as well a new ROUSH rear aero valance featuring race-inspired diffusers and integrating new dual chambered, chrome exhaust tips.

The Stage 3 gets an RS3 graphics package available in multiple color combinations to allow owners to personalize to their taste, a ROUSH front windshield banner, a Stage 3 badge in the upper grille and ROUSH “R” fender badges. The rear decklid receives a Stage 3 badge, a faux gas cap “R” badge and is finished with Jack Roush’s signature graphic.

Standard components inside the Stage 3 consist of a custom gauge cluster (when built on premium base models only), ROUSH embroidered floor mats, a ROUSH center console button, a Stage 3 dash medallion and Jack Roush’s signature graphic on the dash. Under the hood are a serialized Stage 3 plaque and a chassis build plaque.

Because the Stage 3 comes so well equipped, the only exterior body option is the rear quarter window louvers and graphics. Inside the car is the all new Stage 3 Interior Package consisting of Stage 3 embroidered leather seating with suede inserts and highlight stitching, suede door panel inserts with highlight stitching and a suede shift boot with highlight stitching. There is also a vent gauge pod and LED boost gauge, a suede wrapped performance steering wheel, a white or black shifter ball, ROUSH illuminated sill plates (cars equipped with ambient lighting), billet aluminum racing pedals and a convertible light bar as optional equipment.

Chassis and engine options include two 20-inch wheels options (chrome or hyper black), four different brake packages (red two-piston sport, red four-piston performance, black four-piston performance or six-piston competition), a trunk mounted tool kit, ROUSH laser cut hood struts and red or black ROUSH engine coil covers. And to hear the 565 horsepower rumble out the car is the ROUSH dual chamber off-road exhaust system.

The world has waited for upwards of three years, and now the 2010 Camaro is a reality. Obviously trailers are not cheap and as I was unsure how much use we would get from the trailer I was dubious on buying a trailer for this one trip.

However my family were adamant they wanted to go camping so I began looking at trailers and their cost. This is when I stumbled across Indespension.

After looking at their website and being impressed by the variety of trailers they offer I researched the company for customer reviews. I found an article on buying second hand trailers where the author recommended Indespension’s used trailers. After more research I found many happy customers who had brought a used trailer from Indespension and wrote good reviews.

Often when people hear ‘second hand or used’ they think of poor quality and disregard these items.

This can often be true in many cases and I will admit that I have thought this in the past and still do about certain things.

However these reviews, coupled with the money I would save, encouraged me to perhaps try a used trailer.

Indespension’s used trailers are serviced by their team so they are sure to meet all safety requirements. They also arrange for trailers to be delivered to your local store so you do not need to travel far either.

There was a variety to choose from and I parted with my money hoping that I had made the right decision to save some money.

I was very glad I did. During our camping trip the trailer proved very useful. All of our equipment was transported in the trailer and it also served as a great storage space whilst on the campsite.

I have also used the trailer for various trips to the tip and it has also come in handy when helping my daughter to move house.

I wanted to write this blog to tell people how sometimes ‘used and second hand’ does not always mean poor quality.

I definitely recommend people to buy used trailers if money is an issue as mine has proven very reliable and well worth the money.

It is important to remember that when buying either a new or second hand trailer you will need to get it serviced occasionally. It is usually recommended that the trailer is serviced every 6,000 miles.

Don Yenko, however, knew there was a market for an ultra-powerful Camaro and found ways around the GM limit. To accomplish this task he transplanted the L-72 427 big block engine form the Corvette into the Camaro, thus the Yenko SC or Super Camaro was born! Seeing how successful Don’s creation was, other dealers across the Country also did similar swaps, but the Yenko is widely considered the most collectible of the bunch. Click on Read more!

By 1969 Don was able to order the Camaro directly from GM with the 427 installed on the factory assembly line using a Central Office Production Order, or COPO. The cars arrived at Yenko with the drive train in place. The orders included power disc brakes, a 4.10 Positraction rear end, a stronger front stabilizer, and a heavy-duty 4-core aluminum radiator. They were then treated to the SC package with included front and rear spoilers, Cowl Induction Hood, special side and hood stripes, special “Yenko 427″ badges, twin stripes down the flanks and hood, and the sYc (Yenko Super Car) badge.

Buyers of the car had the option of either the M-21 four speed or the Turbo Hydramatic 400 automatic transmission. A total of 201 cars were sold in 1969, 171 with four speed transmissions and 30 with automatic transmissions. According to the Camaro Research Group, standard black interior (code 711) was the only interior ordered by Yenko. However, many Yenko tribute cars have a white interior.

These beasts became instant collectables and there legend and popularity has only grown stronger as the decades have passed. As a result, many counterfeit examples have been built, bought and sold. However, there are still some authentic examples to be had. Namely, the example presented here! This SC is in excellent condition throughout and still sports its original interior! The engine is correct, but not original and features power brakes, power steering and a Muncie 4-speed transmission. It’s the real deal with excellent integrity and it’s listed in the Yenko Registry. 1969 Chevrolet Camaro 427 Yenko

 

This corvette has a 427 tri-power which started as a 400 horse car and as far as we know, they modified to at least 450 horse.  It is a very high option car, it has both tops.  It also has the original build sheet and window sticker.  The only option that was changed on the car is the deluxe wheels that is on the tank sticker to the rally wheels which I think most would agree look better on the car. We are not sure if Berger changed them or a past owner did.  The car also has power windows, power brakes, power steering, tilt and tele, head restraints, custom shoulder belts, pozi traction, 331 ratio rear, turbo 400 transmission (if you research Berger and their are many articles on the internet including one from AutoTrader that gives the full history of Berger Chev you will find out that the turbo 400 was their trans of choice).  The car also has tinted glass, red striped tires, front fender louver trim, F41 suspension and speed warning indicator.  The car is in amazing condition as you can see from the pictures.  This car was inspected by an NCRS judge when the owner first purchased it.  It became a subject on the super car registry and he was asked if he would allow them to send one of their top judges down to authenticate the car and they could find no issue that this was not the real deal.  To the corvette purist this is probably not a car for you.  But, for the rest of the car collector community, this is a piece of automotive history.

Indeed, it was some debut for the Chevy SS – after the new production model paced the racecars at the start, Jimmie Johnson followed up by bringing his Nascar Super Sport over the line for victory in the main event.

The Chevy SS package, first introduced back in 1961, has been an option on several models over the years, including on the Chevrolet Impala. From there, it spread to models including the Camaro and Chevelle but now it has its own mark, which is markedly similar to its Nascar cousin. Indeed, this 2013 Nascar series gives manufacturers a greater opportunity to differentiate their vehicles from each other so this is a great time for the company to launch the SS, align it with the Nascar version and instantly boost its profile, particularly among race fans.

First of all, it’s rear-wheel drive, the like of which has not been seen since the Impala SS ended production in 1996. A proper, full-size retro muscle car, it’s what fans have wanted and it looks like Chevy has been listening. It’s powered by a 415hp 6-litre V8 engine borrowed from the 2013 Corvette and goes from 0 to 60mph in five seconds. Expect big brakes and 19-inch alloy wheels plus the likes of push button start, collision detection sensors, touch screen, parking sensors, a nine-speaker Bose sound system and leather seats.

The new model is widely regarded as a new version of the Pontiac G8 which General Motors killed off in leaner times and is the clearest sign yet that Chevy believes muscle is back.

What a difference a decade can make. In 1969, the Trans Am was a sharp-looking option package that sold in relatively small numbers. In 1979, the Trans Am was a car that everyone wanted. Immortalized in movies, the Trans Am had emerged as a major contributor to Pontiac’s purse. Not everyone was going to drive off in a Trans Am from the Pontiac lot, as there were plenty of other Firebird models that could feed the sporty car habit. After all, it wasn’t every car that could sick around for 10 years racking up increasing sales. Read more for images!

The Frebird/Trans Am juggernaut did, and Pontiac used the 10th anniversary of the T/A to release a true limited edition model. It would start a Trans Am tradition of anniversary editions every five years. The T/A had been very good to Pontiac and while the strength of that spirit ebbed and flowed, Pontiac had never lost faith in the Firebird – till today, neither has it’s fans.

In September of 2011 Pennzoil announced their “Join the Pursuit” sweepstakes, offering this Penske Racing-inspired Challenger SRT8 392 as the grand prize. As the only 1 of 1 Challenger Chrysler has ever built, this car is entirely unique — evidenced by its Pennzoil Limited Edition dash plaque that simply reads “001/001”. And with only 1,455 miles on its soft green odometer, it’s a black on black boulevard bruiser that’s factory fresh in virtually every way! You know, we’ve sold or driven just about every variation of the new Challenger, from Mr. Norm’s, to Saleens and even Hennessey cars. And from a total driving experience, this is probably the best one we’ve ever found. The car’s drivetrain, brakes and suspension have been fine tuned to the max, and our own CEO even said the car probably wouldn’t have made it to the sales floor if he had more garage space. Pull this razor-sharp Dodge under the lights and you’ll see original two-stage that’s clean, shines like new and puts a modern twist on the trusted ‘solid paint and two war stripes’ theme. Below that conservative canvas, original sheetmetal fits precisely and displays great build quality. A close look down the car’s fuselage, which began life at Chrysler’s excellent Brampton, Canada manufacturing facility, reveals not so much as a dent or ding anywhere. And overall, this super slick Mopar conveys a technical style that’s extensive and well-thought-out. At the front of the car, a yellow-trimmed grille hangs “CHALLENGER” and “SRT” scripts between detailed parking lamps, high intensity headlights, a new-for-2011 bumper, and a heritage-inspired chin spoiler. At the sides of the car, clean fenders ride beneath bold “392 HEMI” emblems, custom Penske Racing emblems, body-matched mirrors and monochromatic door handles. At the top of the car, a familiar challenger hood and a small factory spoiler trace original greenhouse glass. And at the back of the car, a small “SRT8” emblem rides between a traditional chrome fuel filler, a body-width tail light panel and bright Corsa exhaust tips.

As we all probably know, Chrysler’s SRT division has never been defined by mere stripes and stickers. Straight from the factory this new-for-2011 Hemi makes an impressive 470 horsepower and produces almost 100 more lb./ft. of low-end torque than its predecessor. And with the help of a custom tune by the folks at Penske Racing, its performance goes from wild to insane. Measuring in at roughly 392 cubic inches, the big mill uses a revised block, aluminum alloy pistons and variable cam timing to crank out a whopping 507 horsepower and 486 lb./ft. of torque. Visually, the engine compartment comes together just as well as the outside of the car. Chrysler’s install is exceptionally clean and forgoes the current ‘plastic dome of doom’ engine cover trend in favor of “392 HEMI” branded rail shrouds that actually resemble tall valve covers. The big block is coated in a nice shade of traditional orange paint that contrasts well against the car’s black engine bay. And, best of all, this is a Hemi that’ll fire up in any weather, drive thousands of miles before anyone needs to turn its bolts, and probably lay waste to any old school muscle car that’s brave enough to stage a challenge.

Straight from Auburn Hills, Chrysler’s LH platform was a solid foundation that could easily spawn rear and all-wheel drive applications. And when this Challenger’s engineering team shortened its wheelbase, bolted up a Mercedes S-Cass front suspension, threw in a Mercedes E-Class rear suspension, and re-christened it “LC”, they created the perfect blend of American attitude and European manners. The 507 horsepower Hemi sends its torque to a factory Tremec 6-speed manual transmission. That transmission spins a fresh limited slip differential that’s equipped with tall 3.92 gears. The car’s sport-tuned suspension, which has been upgraded with lowering springs, is equipped with standard stability and traction control. Variable ratio, speed-assisted power steering ensures you’ll want to do more than make traditional NASCAR lefts. Braking is handled by yellow Brembo calipers that, with the help of standard anti-lock software, clamp 14 inch slotted rotors. The engine breaths through a three inch Corsa cat-back exhaust system that exits under the car’s big rear bumper. At the corners of the car, custom Forgiato wheels spin 245/45ZR20 Pirelli P Zeros around bright yellow accents. And, judging by the looks of this Challenger’s super clean undercarriage, the car has never seen a mud puddle.
