This is 24 cylinder Detroit that these guys are putting in a custom 359 Peterbilt. It will use an Allison Transmission, and the engine will be in the front of the truck. They are starting off with 40 foot 4″ X 14″ rectangle rails, not sure how long it will end up being. This baby is estimated at 3,424 horsepower.

The chase is on, this November. In the second part of November, the world of racing games as we know it will change. At least this is the promise made by EA and Criterion Games when it comes to the release of the latest Need for Speed title, perhaps the most anticipated in years, Hot Pursuit.

Until the game arrives in stores though, EA thought to taunt us some more with the extraordinary cars which will be featured in the game. Enter a new promo video, this time for real: real cars, real road, real people.

And not just your everyday people. EA and Criterion called upon British grime music band Roll Deep and the man formerly known as the Stig, Ben Collins, for a little chase-me-down the street gimmick.

The video is just a teaser to a complete chase between a pair of Lambos Porsche 911 GT3s. How it all worked out we’ll see on November 8th.

Hot Pursuit, a revival of the successful original title, will introduce a whole new feature for online play, called Need for Speed Autolog. Through Autolog, players can compare racing stats and automatically get personalized gameplay recommendations.

It features pretty much all the cars which represent something in today’s world, including Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, Ford Shelby GT500, Audi TT RS Coupe, Chevrolet Camaro SS, Porsche Cayman S and Dodge Challenger SRT8. The Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione and Ford Shelby GT500 will only be available in the Limited Edition version of the game.

The game will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii.

Torque for getting those big trailers moving, Horse Power to keep you cruising and fuel economy so your wallet doesn’t scream at you. By the way – it’s all being done by a V6! I know I know, i crapped my pants, to but to answer a question that popped into my head instantly, “Is this thing able take the beating I can dish out, being a V6?”

Well this video shows the torture they put the engine through in testing to make sure that even an SK man would have a world of trouble getting this thing to pooch out!

Hi, guys, this was awesome – Ford took the F-150 EcoBoost into the forest, where it shot a series of Web-based documentaries about what the truck can do. Simply put, the F-150 was forced to pull some logs through the narrow roads of the forest, just to show that the 420 lb.-ft of torque are for real. The truck pulled logs weighing from 4,000 to 9,000 pounds, heavy enough to kick into action the truck’s great torque/rpm combination (420 lb.-ft. at 2,500 rpm). Did it manage to impress?

This video shows you all the angles, from inside, underneath the bumper, and outside the car. Larry’s car was unchanged from it’s Drag Week trim, and had only been outfitted with a new pair of Hoosier DOT legal “slicks”. Over the 4 day event, Larry ran 6.99, 7.00, 6.96, and finally 6.93. We just couldn’t miss this out. Shot just south of Paris, France in Linas at l’Autodrome de Linas –Montlhéry, this 1.58 mile oval track, built in 1924, features banks as steep as 51 degrees, which is more than double the standard incline of most NASCAR ovals. Chosen by Ken for this specific reason, the ramp-like banking proved to be a unique and exciting challenge. The driving physics for the stunts performed were totally unknown until Ken attempted the maneuvers during filming.
