707 HP Makes 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Most Powerful Musclecar

Posted on 3 July, 2014

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat debuted two months ago, showing off its great new engine – the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat. The unit produces an unprecedented 707 horsepower (520 kW) and 650 lb.-ft. (480 lb-ft) of torque. These figures make the Challenger the most powerful muscle car that Dodge has ever built. In fact, it makes it the most powerful muscle car ever.

For the first time in Chrysler Group history, the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat comes standard with two key fobs – red and black. The red key fob is the only key that can unlock the full 707 horsepower and torque potential of the powerplant, while the black key fob limits the driver to a reduced engine output of 500 horsepower (368 kW).

Furthermore, the new Challenger has been redesigned and entirely reengineered. It features performance-enhancing technologies inside and out, including the new TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission and an interior inspired by the classic 1971 Challenger.

The exterior of the new model gets dual air extractors, hood in standard body color or in Satin Black finish, Air Catcher inlet port, quad projector headlamps, integrated projector fog lamps, duck-bill fascia splitter and larger front splitter. The difference between the Challenger SRT Hellcat and the rest of the Challenger lineup is the “SUPERCHARGED” fender badge.

The interior boasts refined SRT-branded heated steering wheel with paddle shifters, refreshed seats with cushioning and more comfortable contours. The seats can be wrapped-up in Nappa leather or Alcantara. They include SRT logos embossed on them.

2015 Dodge Challenger will start arriving in Dodge dealerships in the third quarter of 2014.
